BIO
Megan Maczko is an award-winning writer-director and a critically acclaimed actress. Drawing on her experience of being born outside Detroit and growing into a filmmaker in Europe, she brings a boldly stylish directorial voice to her nuanced, character-driven work.
Megan’s first short film The In-Between is currently being distributed internationally by Gonella Productions. The film is also a prologue to a feature length script in development entitled Exposure. Based on a true story of horrific events that took place in northern Michigan in the 1970’s
Megan’s online mini series: Going Down: The 7 Deadly Sins of the Office Christmas Party, was made exclusively for Instagram and has received over 500k views.
She recently completed her third short film Fjällnäs. Commissioned by the Alpine Fellowship, Fjällnäs is an ambitious satire set at a bougie symposium in remote Sweden about identity, hypocrisy and single-use plastic.
