BIO
Jess O'Kane is a writer for Film & TV. Her debut feature BAD APPLES (dir. Jonatan Etzler) wrapped in Spring 2024 and is produced by Pulse Films. Starring Saoirse Ronan, the feature film will be distributed worldwide by Republic Pictures in 2025.
For Film, Jess is currently developing a dark comedy thriller with Searchlight Pictures UK. She is adapting A.K Blakemore's THE GLUTTON with Pulse Films, Kelly Gardiner's novel, GODDESS with cinéart & Isabella Films. Her short film The Devil’s Harmony, co-written with director Dylan Holmes Williams, was the Jury Prize winner at the Berlin British Shorts Festival, London's Critics Circle; The winner of Best UK Short at Raindance and winner of the Jury Prize for International short at Sundance 2020. Jess and Dylan are now in development for the feature film with RANGE MEDIA.
For TV, her YA Thriller is in development with Range Media (2024), and she is developing a four part drama for Fremantle with Me & You Productions (2025).
Jess has had multiple projects for TV and Film in development since 2019 with companies such as Ink Factory, SKY, Moon River, RED Productions, The Forge and Clerkenwell.
Jess graduated in 2017 from the National Film & Television School on scholarship, and was a participant in the 2019-2020 BBC TV Drama Writers programme.
